Haemorrhoids (Piles) are soft tissues that acts as cushions located in your anus. They help in controlling bowel movements. Haemorrhoids become troubled, when they become swollen or inflamed. If left untreated, it could progress to be more serious, causing great discomfort, restlessness, or affect your quality of life.
Dr. Shanker shared his experience in Laser Surgery as an excellent modality for recurrent haemorrhoids after previous Open Surgery or Stapler Surgery, and in young patients suffering from haemorrhoids symptoms.
The patient is usually discharged the day after the procedure and mostly are back to work after three days of medical leave. In view of the fast recovery, there is no need for workplace adjustments to be made or extended leave after surgery, said Dr. Shanker.
