Varicose veins, if left untreated, may cause more serious complications like bleeding, deep vein thrombosis and phlebitis.
𝐏𝐡𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐬 mean that veins inside develop blood clots, one will complain of redness of the skin, painful and it is very tender when you touch it. A lot of times, Phlebitis are mistaken as infection of the skin call cellulitis whereby antibiotics are taken, yet the problem is never solved.
Apart from that, if the blood clots become very serious, that may cause 𝐝𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐯𝐞𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐛𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐬 (𝐃𝐕𝐓), which is a dangerous condition. If the blood clot is broken off into smaller portion and travels to the brain, heart or lung, it can be a fatal complication.
Lastly, varicose veins can 𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐞𝐝. Majority of varicose veins patients present with bleeding as an emergency. Varicose veins which developed near the surface of the skin can bleed easily if you scratch, cut or bump your leg. The bleeding may be difficult to stop.
Bleeding, deep vein thrombosis and phlebitis are the progression of the varicose veins disease if it is left untreated. It is best to have varicose vein treated at the early stage in order to prevent all these serious complications from happening.
